49ers-Broncos injury report: Reuben Foster will play

Here’s a rundown of players who will not play vs. the Denver Broncos.

Fooch’s update: John Lynch told Cam Inman that Foster will play.

The San Francisco 49ers host the Denver Broncos Saturday evening, and they will be resting quite a few players. The team will sit primarily defensive players, with Joshua Garnett the primary offensive starter still sidelined. Here is the list of players not playing, according to 49ers beat writers:

WR Aaron Burbridge
OG Joshua Garnett
DT DeForest Buckner
DL Ronald Blair
DE Aaron Lynch
LB Sean Porter
CB Will Redmond
CB Prince Charles Iworah
FS Jimmie Ward

There is no official word on Reuben Foster yet, but the informal expectation remains that he will play. John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan have both said they expect him to play after he suffered an AC joint sprain in practice earlier this week. It was on the same shoulder as his pre-Combine surgery, but the team said it’s unrelated. NaVorro Bowman suffered a similar sprain this week and called it a stinger. Both are expected to play.

Ronald Blair and Will Redmond are probably the two players who can least afford to miss game action. Blair is behind Tank Carradine and others on the defensive line depth chart, while Redmond is behind K’Waun Williams at nickel back.
