The San Francisco 49ers host the Denver Broncos for joint practices in two weeks, and one of the practices will be opened up to residents of the city of Santa Clara. The team announced on Wednesday that each city resident can sign up for four tickets to practice (sign up here). The practice will be held at the SAP Performance Facility on Wednesday, August 16 from 10:00 a.m. to noon PT. Gates will open at 9:00am. You’ll need to bring ID or some other proof of residency.
The 49ers relationship with the city of Santa Clara has been rocky at times since the team moved into Levi’s Stadium. The team’s offices have been in Santa Clara for longer than that, but the financing and building of Levi’s Stadium has strained things at times. It has primarily been with city hall, but the relationship is something the 49ers have had to work on, and likely need to continue working on. Providing events like this are a good way to build some good will that might have been lost amidst the political squabbles that have gone on the past few years.
The 49ers will hold joint practices with the Broncos that Wednesday, August 16 and Thursday, August 17. The team will face the Broncos on Saturday, August 19 at 7 p.m. PT on NFL Network.
