The return of preseason football last week is followed this week with the first Monday Night Football game of the year. It’s not quite regular season MNF, but it’s an extra day of football we didn’t have the past seven months. We have a fairly random matchup to get things going this week, with the Cleveland Browns hosting the New York Giants. The game kicks off at 5 p.m. PT on ESPN.
Starters will play a little more than normal, but the most intriguing thing for me is seeing how the Browns use DeShone Kizer. He did some good things last week, and would seemingly have earned at least a little boost. Could he supplant Brock Osweiler and Cody Kessler sooner rather than later?
The other thing to watch is whether or not Odell Beckham has permanently damaged his eyes by staring at today’s eclipse. Staring at a full eclipse can cause retina damage, so I guess we’ll see what the repercussions are for OBJ. If he drops a pass tonight, I think we know the main talking point!
