Golden Nuggets: 49ers ready for Vikings in pivotal 3rd preseason game

Sunday, August 27th, 2017 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Good morning everyone. The San Francisco 49ers will play their third preseason game today, against the Minnesota Vikings. It will be interesting to see how long the starters play, with head coach Kyle Shanahan implying he hasn’t made a firm decision on that yet. Playing the first half is mostly a given, but will they go into the third quarter?

That’s the big question. I’m primarily interested in the work that Joe Williams and Quinton Dial get on Sunday. It’s no secret that I’m a big supporter of Dial and his work, while Williams is an intriguing prospect whose carry load in the regular season is still a moving target.

It wouldn’t hurt if the offensive line also figured out how to run block, but perhaps I’m asking for too much at this point? Either way, I’m tired after covering two big boxing matches last night, so let us get to your links right away. Enjoy.
