Eric Reid takes knee during National Anthem

He is the first 49er to take a knee in the preseason this year.

Through the first two weeks of the preseason, the San Francisco 49ers had not had a player take a knee during the National Anthem. In Week 3, Eric Reid changed that. He was the only 49ers player to take a knee, but Marquise Goodwin and Matt Breida stood next to him, each with a hand on his shoulder. They did not show it live, but rather showed him kneeling and Al Michaels said it was during the Anthem.

Reid had previously said he was not going to take a knee, but something appeared to change his mind. It might have been further reflection upon Charlottesville, it might have been something else. I imagine he will get some questions after the game.
