The San Francisco 49ers have started out well against the Minnesota Vikings in the all-important third preseason game. They stopped the Vikings on the opening drive, and quarterback Brian Hoyer combined with wide receiver Marquise Goodwin to put a very quick six points on the board. Hoyer hit Goodwin for a 46-yard touchdown pass on which he showed off his jets big time.
Goodwin beat everyone, and nobody had even the slightest chance of catching him. Harrison Smith, considered one of the top safeties in the league, bit hard on the play and was nowhere to be found when Goodwin caught the beautifully thrown touchdown pass.
The second-best thing about the play? Goodwin’s touchdown celebration, where he mimed doing some sprinting. Goodwin, of course, is notable for his excellent speed, the primary reason that the 49ers brought him in this offseason, replacing Torrey Smith. Check it out below, courtesy of the NFL:
