Good morning everyone. The NFL world got some big news on Monday night when it was reported that Matthew Stafford agreed to terms on a contract extension with the Detroit Lions. This is significant for the San Francisco 49ers because they don’t have a franchise quarterback and will have to pay one in the future and there is the obvious connection to Kirk Cousins of Washington as well.
We also got the good (and expected) news that Joe Staley’s injury isn’t serious and that he’ll be ready to go for Week 1 of the regular season. Staley is the best player on the 49ers’ roster, and any time missed for him has been huge for the 49ers. The offensive line is already a big concern and can’t handle the loss of someone like Staley.
Anyway, there’s plenty of links for your perusal, so let’s just jump right into them, shall we? Enjoy.
