The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced their modern era nominees for 2018 induction Tuesday evening, which they’ll eventually cut down to semifinalists and finalists. This comes three weeks after they announced former NFL executive Bobby Beathard as a contributor finalist. He advances to the finalist round and will be voted on by himself Super Bowl weekend.
Earlier Wednesday, Beathard was on NFL Network talking about his career and his chance to enter the Hall of Fame. NFL Network decided to surprise him by bringing in his grandson, San Francisco 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard.
You can watch the video above, and they bring in C.J. just after the 1:59 mark. He says his to his grandpa, and they have a fun little conversation. The host asks Bobby for a scouting report on C.J. following his big preseason run. Bobby says he always knew he could run from his high school and Pop Warner days, but with the speed of the NFL, even that caught him by surprise.
It’s a fun video seeing Bobby and C.J. talking, and is most definitely worth a watch. If you don’t see it above, click here.
