The San Francisco 49ers continue to look at options for their defensive line. ESPN’s Field Yates is reporting the 49ers workout out free agents Ahtyba Rubin, Kendall Langford, Jaye Howard, and Tony McDaniel on Wednesday.

There is no word on who the 49ers are looking to replace with someone from this group. The 49ers used a pretty sizable rotation along the line this past week. DeForest Buckner and Arik Armstead led the way, playing 79 percent and 76 percent of defensive snaps, respectively. Solomon Thomas played 64 percent, Earl Mitchell played 57 percent, Tank Carradine played 46 percent, Elvis Dumervil played 24 percent, D.J. Jones played 22 percent, and Xavier Cooper played 21 percent.

All four defensive linemen measure in at over 300 pounds, which would seem to indicate the 49ers are looking for interior line help. Right now, Solomon Thomas is the primary interior backup in sub packages, while D.J. Jones and Xavier Cooper are interior depth for base downs. Maybe we’ll see who they are looking to replace in the coming days.
