Welcome back for Week 2 of the 2017 NFL season. The week gets going with the Cincinnati Bengals hosting the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football. Both Houston and Cincinnati are coming off truly dreadful performances to open the season. also time to consider pick ‘em contests and Survivor pools.

As we get ready for Week 2, I’m back for my second pick in a Survivor pool. In a Survivor Pool, you pick a different team each week. You can only pick a team once. If your team wins you stay alive. I have set it up so you get two strikes. If you lose once, you get another chance. If you lose twice, you’re out. Once you pick a team, you can no longer pick them this season.

Last week, I went with the Buffalo Bills at home against the New York Jets. I am thinking the Jets will be a team I pick against with considerable regularity each season. They’re an awful team, and while they will probably win a game or two, most of their games will be easy calls against them.

I’ll likely be taking the Oakland Raiders at home against the Jets. Of course, the Seattle Seahawks are also a potential pick against our San Francisco 49ers. The Seahawks also get a home game against the Los Angeles Rams that could be worth a pick. I would like to think the 49ers can surprise the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field, but it’s really hard to see that happening.

Tonight we get the Cincinnati Bengals and Houston Texans. The Texans defense struggled last week, but I expect a bounce-back performance. The problem is their quarterback position. Tom Savage got the start last week and proceeded to get benched for DeShaun Watson. The Texans will send out Watson against the Bengals, but he is dealing with an ankle injury. The Bengals are a six-point favorite in this game. I really don’t like anything about this game. I’m going to go with a Bengals win but Texans cover.
