Richard Sherman misses second straight Seahawks practice

The Seahawks are missing two defensive starters right now.

The Seattle Seahawks defense will be a stiff challenge for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, but Seattle could be at the very least a bit limited. Cornerback Richard Sherman has sat out the first two practices this week with a hamstring injury.

Sherman dealt with a thigh injury last week that cost him the team’s Friday practice, but he then played every defensive snap (82) against the Green Bay Packers. This hamstring injury appears to be something from the game, although I am not certain. Sherman has made 91 consecutive starts, so odds are pretty good we see him playing this Sunday.

The Seahawks were also without linebacker Terence Garvin. The outside linebacker has not practiced this week with a shoulder injury. Fellow linebacker K.J. Wright was a DNP on Wednesday with an ankle injury, but got in a limited workout on Thursday.

On offense, running back Thomas Rawls was listed as a full participant Wednesday in spite of an ankle injury. He was not on Thursday’s injury report, which suggests he’ll be active this weekend.

Thursday practice participation report

DNP: LB Terence Garvin (shoulder), CB Richard Sherman (hamstring)
Limited: LB Michael Wilhoite (calf), LB K.J. Wright (ankle)
Full: CB Shaquill Griffin (concussion)
