Week 2 of the 2017 NFL season is officially underway, and things are not looking good for the Cincinnati Bengals. They lost a close one to the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football by a final score of 13-9. The Texans bounced back from a bad loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, with DeShaun Watson offering some sizzle in his starting debut.
Now, we move on to preparations for the San Francisco 49ers Week 2 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers are a two-touchdown underdog, and I am not seeing many picks in their favor. Pro Football Focus writer Gordon McGuinness picked the 49ers to win, while The Athletic columnist Vic Tafur has the 49ers covering the double-digit spread.
It’s hard to see the 49ers covering the spread in this one. They’ve struggled in Seattle, winless up there since Christmas Eve 2011. I actually attended that game, but it was pre-Russell Wilson and much of the rest of that crew. So, it doesn’t quite count in figuring out whether or not they can stay competitive in this game.
What do you think it will take for the 49ers to cover the spread?
