Jimmie Ward to be listed as questionable for Sunday vs. Seahawks

The 49ers free safety is seeing improvement, but Kyle Shanahan said he is “definitely questionable.”

The San Francisco 49ers are seeing improvement from free safety Jimmie Ward, but his status remains up in the air. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Ward had his best day of practice on Friday, but he remains “definitely questionable” for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Ward has been limited in practice the past two weeks while he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury. The media has said the past two days that he looks better than he did the previous week, and the questionable designation is an improvement over his doubtful designation last week.

Jaquiski Tartt is likely to get the start if Ward cannot go, but even if Ward is active, would he be moved right back into the starting lineup? Or does the team take some time working him into some sub packages, and slowly getting him back into the starting lineup? We’ll have to wait two more days to see what’s next.
