The San Francisco 49ers offense has struggled at times, but in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks, the run game is doing some big things. Running back Carlos Hyde has 102 rushing yards in the first half, coming on only seven carries. Hyde broke a career-long 61-yard run, and then added a 27-yard run. You can watch the latter run above, which includes a stiff arm on Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.
Hyde is having a strong game, and it’s not all that surprising. Hyde had two 100-yard rushing performances last year, and one of them actually came up in Seattle. In Week 3 last season, Hyde had 103 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The two touchdowns came after the Seahawks were running away with the game, but it was still a solid end to the game for him.
The 49ers and Seahawks are tied 6-6 heading into the second half of a game that saw Seattle favored by 14 points. There’s a lot of football left to be played, but a strong second half by Hyde could give the 49ers a chance at the upset.
