Welcome back for another week of Thursday Night Football. The NFC North is on display this week, as the Green Bay Packers host the Chicago Bears. The game will broadcast in the two local markets on NFL Network and CBS, and will be live streamed on Amazon Prime everywhere else. The game kicks off at 5:30 p.m. PT, with Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth calling the game from the booth, and Heather Cox on the sideline.
This marks the first live stream game of the year, which follows a year of seeing them on Twitter. I wouldn’t normally shill like crazy for a product, but Amazon Prime is pretty fantastic. There’s good TV programming on Prime, but the ability to purchase and return so easily is pretty great. But yea, there’s football, too!
The Packers are a touchdown favorite. I think the Bears are proving to be a little more feisty than most of us might have expected. They are 1-2, coming off a home upset of the Pittsburgh Steelers. They got thumped by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2, but gave the Atlanta Falcons a run for their money in Week 1. I don’t think we see them win a lot of games, but they won’t be an easy out each week.
That being said, I gotta take the Packers to cover the spread. It’s a rare choice of going with the public majority, but this line seems just a notch too low. That’s not to say this won’t be close, but it felt like they wanted to get some folks jumping on the Bears following that upset. I’m just not seeing it this week.
