The San Francisco 49ers 53-man roster has seemed mostly set this week, but the team is looking for potential improvements as the practice week begins. Cam Inman is reporting the 49ers brought in cornerback Leon Hall for a workout on Tuesday.
This is Hall’s second visit to the 49ers. He was on hand in late May, in what was originally described as a workout, but Matt Maiocco later learned was just a visit. The 49ers are preparing for the Carolina Panthers, and have their first on-field practice of the week on Wednesday.
The 49ers are expected to start Rashard Robinson and Dontae Johnson at cornerback, with K’Waun Williams serving as the nickel back. Hall could play nickel back, and would seemingly provide competition for Keith Reaser. Ahkello Witherspoon and Adrian Colbert are on the roster as well, but seem further down the depth chart for the time being.
