Ray Lewis dislike for Colin Kaepernick might go back to post-Super Bowl Bucks hat

New, comments

Just when you thought this couldn’t get any more ridiculous.

The Ray Lewis-Colin Kaepernick thing has been pretty ridiculous, but the latest angle might be the most absurd yet. Ray Lewis has generally been viewed as fairly thin-skinned, and apparently he might have a grudge against Kaepernick dating back to Super Bowl 47!

After the game, Kaepernick was apparently wearing a Milwaukee Bucks hat. I was busy hustling to get the hell out of there and did not notice this before, but someone posted this picture shortly after the game.

According to Pro Football Talk, a “league source” told them Lewis did not take kindly to Kaepernick wearing the hat. For those don’t remember, leading up to the Super Bowl there was a story about Lewis using a deer antler spray to help heal from a torn triceps earlier in the season. The product in question contained a banned substance, but with Lewis expected to retire immediately after the Super Bowl, there was nothing that could be done.

Kaepernick wore something with deer antlers on it, and if PFT’s source is to be believed, that pissed off Ray Lewis. On the one hand, the notion of Lewis being angry about that cracks me up. On the other hand, Colin Kaepernick was born in Milwaukee. He very well might have been taking a shot at Lewis, and he might not have been. It’s certainly an amusing coincidence at the very least.
