So did anyone watch the season opener on Thursday? I don’t know about you, but one of the people in my fantasy league has Kareem Hunt and LeVeon Bell. shiver.

I’ll admit, I didn’t feel so good about drafting Jay Ajayi, but I wasn’t sure reaching for Hunt in the second round was a better idea. In hindsight, I probably should have gone with Hunt, I wanted that Chiefs offense. Fortunately, I have Carlos Hyde as my No. 2 who I think is going to have a good season.

It just won’t be against the Panthers. Week 1 is impossible to predict anything given how teams are still a bit slow coming out of the gate. The Panthers have a decent enough defense I expect Hyde to get around 87 yards and be done for the day. This is all on Brian Hoyer and if the wide receivers can do anything. Me being a homer, I have Pierre Garcon as well. If the 49ers can accomplish through the air, they have a chance at winning this, but even if they do, or don’t, it’s not indicative of the season. Remember when they blew out the Los Angeles Rams last year in Week 1? How did that season turn out?

Oh yeah, same for what you saw on Thursday. Once I see Hunt consistently get yards like that, I’ll say he’s the star everyone is pegging. Week 1 is crazy. Plus we’ve seen certain players excel in their first NFL game to only flame out as the season or years go on. Even quarterbacks. Even certain 49ers quarterbacks. Even one that’s currently unemployed...
