Joe Staley, who has been a stalwart on the 49ers offensive line, has been named to the Pro Bowl. He will be making his 6th Pro Bowl appearance, this time as an alternate. He joins the only other 49er who made the Pro Bowl, fullback Kyle Juszczyk. Joe can always be counted on to play well and he continues to be one of the best left tackles in football. It’s great to see him rewarded with another trip to the Pro Bowl.
49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo did not lose a game this season and even when he is out of the playoffs, he continues to win. With the New England Patriots win in the AFC Championship game on Sunday, Jimmy can make no less than $135,000 dollars from their run. If the Patriots win the Super Bowl, his total playoff bonus will be around $191,000. He can add that to the haul he’s about to make with either a long-term deal or the franchise tag this offseason.
Scouts for the 49ers and the other NFL teams will have their eyes set on the Senior Bowl in Alabama for the next week. The week consists of practices that lead up to the game on Saturday. The 49ers have needs at multiple positions and this is a crucial place to view players that can help make a difference in the future.
