The 1st day of Senior Bowl practices took place on Tuesday. There are 2 more practices scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday. The 49ers GM John Lynch and his staff are in attendance and will be keeping a close eye on prospects in their retooling efforts. Positions like corner, receiver, pass rusher, and offensive line are a few of the key spots the 49ers could look to bolster with prospects from the Senior Bowl.
Lynch and his staff want to continue the success they had from their 1st draft together. They hit on drafting players last season that were stars or key contributors for the 49ers. The biggest star being none other than LB Reuben Foster. They also hit with picks of Adrian Colbert, Trent Taylor, George Kittle, and Ahkello Witherspoon. All look to be an important part of the team moving forward.
Colin Kaepernick is nominated for the NFLPA’s Bryon “Whizzer” White Community MVP award. He’s up against Andy Dalton, J.J. Watt, Chris Long, and Von Miller. Colin is in the final stages of his $1 million pledge to charities. He has also received pledges from other sports athletes. He is eligible for the award because he is still represented by the players’ union.
