The 2017 season was a wild one for the San Francisco 49ers, finishing with five straight wins behind new starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. The strong finish had 49ers fans going wild for Garoppolo, and as reported by many in attendance, Jimmy G jerseys were flying off the rack faster than they could be re-stocked.
It is no surprise then that Garoppolo jerseys shot up the leaderboard among NFL players. The NFL listed out the top 30 best-selling player jerseys from this past season, and Garoppolo ranked No. 30.
Normally we see breakdowns by quarter, and my guess is Garoppolo is near the top for the final quarter of the season. The 49ers acquired him via trade on October 30, and moved him into the starting lineup December 3rd against the Chicago Bears. His jersey sales likely saw an uptick after the trade, but once he started playing, they went into overdrive. I would not be surprised if he was top five or top ten for that final three months of sales.
