The 2018 Senior Bowl practice week is officially a wrap. The game takes place on Saturday, but the practice week is viewed by most as the most important part of the week’s evaluation process.

With that in mind, each year the organizers name practice players of the week. This year, Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin was named overall practice player of the week. The position players of the week included:

QB: Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma
RB: Akrum Wadley, Iowa
TE/WR: James Washington, Oklahoma State
OL: Isaiah Wynn, Georgia
DL: Justin Jones, NC State
LB: Kemoko Turay, Rutgers
DB: M.J. Stewart, North Carolina
ST: Daniel Carlson, Auburn

Isaiah Wynn is an intriguing interior lineman, but he also is dealing with a significant injury. NFL Network reporter Alex Flanagan reported on Thursday that Wynn practiced this entire week with a torn labrum. Wynn is scheduled for surgery next week, and is expected to be ready for training camp.

49ers right tackle Trent Brown had surgery on a torn labrum in December and Kyle Shanahan described it as a five-to-six month recovery window. If that window holds for Wynn, that would suggest he will be back at 100 percent by the end of July. He’ll get to take part in the offseason workout program for whomever drafts him, but likely strictly in non-contact work.
