The basic needs for the San Francisco 49ers are pretty well-known. Most people believe the 49ers need a starting cornerback, a lights-out wide receiver, a running back if Carlos Hyde departs in free agency, an edge rusher and an interior lineman.
But I was wondering if you, the good folks in the comments, had a different opinion. First, are there any of those positions that you don’t really consider a need? Maybe we have some huge Matt Breida fans, or some of you are as high on the pairing of Pierre Garcon and Marquise Goodwin as I am.
Maybe there are some big believers in Joshua Garnett once he manages to recover.
And secondly, I want to know if there are other positions that you think actually need an upgrade. Are you not a fan of George Kittle and Garrett Celek? What about fullback, maybe you don’t like Kyle Juszczyk’s contract. Maybe you’re not sold on Eli Harold as a Sam linebacker, or by the play of the eighty-seven safeties currently on the roster.
Or perhaps somebody in the coaching staff needs to be changed? Robert Saleh is a guy that I believe in, at least for another season, but he seems to get some heat on here.
Basically, let’s do a whole bunch of complaining. It’s been too quiet of a Saturday. Yell at me.
