The Jimmy Garoppolo Nickname Tournament: Round 2

We’ve reached the elite eight nicknames for Jimmy Garoppolo. We saw one upset in round one. Which names will make it to the final four?

It’s elite eight time in our search for Jimmy Garoppolo’s nickname! Round One saw the favorite winning every matchup except one. In the sole upset of the sweet sixteen, “The Franchise” beat out “Jimmy Guwap” to move on to the second round. Maybe there are some 49ers players represented in the vote total, as some have taken to calling him simply “Franchise.”

The updated bracket after the first round:

A battle of heavyweights awaits in the elite eight. Jimmy GQ earned the most votes, winning it’s first round tilt with a whopping 3,435 votes. The early favorite now faces the second highest vote getter in Jimmy Geesus (aka Jimmy Geezus). Jimmy Geezus is coming in HOT, and already has a line of shirts available for pre-order. Reuben Foster has a little advice for those setting up their hat and t-shirt party ahead of their victory.

Other names don’t have shirts (yet) but have inspired artwork.

And while there are many Goatroppolo images flooding the interwebz, this one is probably my favorite.

Here’s to hoping not ALL the nicknames get artwork. You know what I mean.

Round 2 voting

Voting for our very own divisional playoffs round ends at 11:59 pm pacific on Monday. In the meantime, remember the immortal words of President John Quincy Adams:
