Good morning everyone. Hopefully you survived a day of playoff football that doesn’t include the San Francisco 49ers, because you’re due ... five more of them before the 2017-18 season is well and truly over. I spent most of Saturday talking about and defending former 49ers quarterback Alex Smith, and because I hate myself, I’ll probably spend most of today doing that, too.

Something about the strong finish to the regular season and the prospects of Jimmy Garoppolo over the course of a full season has me feeling good enough to watch playoff football. Usually, I only watch the games I am required to for work — I’m just not that interested in teams that aren’t the 49ers most days.

But with the future bright, I find myself enjoying the playoffs, especially when it looks like the 49ers could probably beat all four of the teams in action on Saturday.

Onto your links for the day.
