Golden Nuggets: Game Day!

A daily compilation of 49ers news from around the net. Monday, October 15th, 2018 edition.

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning folks, and although it’s Monday, I’d like to wish you a happy game day. Not much has changed since yesterday’s Nuggets, other than a few tweaks to the injury reports. The 49ers have added K’Waun Williams to the injury report, although he’s not exactly injured, just sick. The secondary is already beat up and somewhat underperforming, and his absence would certainly be felt.

On the Packers’ side, QB Aaron Rodgers and TE Jimmy Graham have officially exited the injury report, suggesting that they’re healthy and ready to go for tonight’s game. Assuming that this is the case, it seems as though it may be a long game for the 49ers - one that may turn out to be something of a one-sided shootout. In the likely scenario that the 49ers fall behind early, CJ Beathard is without several of his options at WR, which may lead to some difficulty in keeping up through the air.

The latest reports on Matt Breida suggest that he may be ready to go tonight, although he is still designated as questionable with lingering shoulder issues, as well as a recent ankle injury. Although Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) is listed as questionable, there remains a fair amount of doubt that he’ll be full speed for tonight’s game. As was the case yesterday, the rest of the injury report is rounded out with 3 offensive linemen (Joe Staley, Weston Richburg, and Mike Person), along with George Kittle (knee), who is most likely the primary target, assuming he plays tonight.
