Matt Breida, George Kittle, Pierre Garçon all active for Week 6

Good news all around!

The San Francisco 49ers announced their inactives for Week 6, and they will not be as short-handed as they expected early in the week. Most notably, the 49ers will face the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football with running back Matt Breida active. He suffered an ankle sprain last week that looked like it would sideline him for this weekend, but he is good to go.

The team has made a switch on their depth chart, deactivating tight end Cole Wick. He dropped what seemed like an easy touchdown last week and the team promoted Ross Dwelley on Monday. The third tight end gets limited work in the 49ers offense, but with George Kittle dealing with a knee injury and Garrett Celek slowed a bit in practice by a quadricep injury, an opportunity could present itself.

Wide receiver Trent Taylor is inactive due to his back injury that required offseason surgery. His absence means the slot position is open for Kendrick Bourne and Richie James to potentially find some additional work.

49ers inactives: WR Dante Pettis, WR Trent Taylor, TE Cole Wick, OL Joshua Garnett, OL Shon Coleman, DL Jullian Taylor, DL D.J. Jones

Packers inactives: QB Tim Boyle, WR Randall Cobb, CB Jaire Alexander, CB Bashaud Breeland, OL Alex Light, OL Jason Spriggs, WR Geronimo Allison
