Just days after being bumped off next week’s Sunday Night Football game, the 49ers entertained the nation with a great fight, but eventual loss to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. There were not many people that thought C.J. Beathard would be able to match throws with one of the greatest quarterbacks of this generation, but C.J. was up to the challenge. Unfortunately at the end, Aaron would not let his team lose and like he does so often, he drove them down the field to score on their last possession .

C.J. was great until his last throw when he threw an interception trying to find Marquise Goodwin. The Packers sent everybody on the rush and he looked for Goodwin, but left the ball too short. He finished 16 of 23 with 2 touchdown passes to Marquise Goodwin. The 49ers rushing attack tore up Green Bay’s defense all night long. Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert combined for 148 yards on 26 carries. They did not get a carry on the final series when the 49ers were trying to run out the clock which was a little strange since the Green Bay defense had not shown they could stop the running attack.

The defense had a night of 2 halves. In the 1st half, the Rodgers offense put 20 points on them. He had 2 touchdown drives of 77+ yards and he was finding receivers wide open for chunk plays. In the 2nd half, the defense put more pressure on him. The defense only gave up 3 points until the final 3 minutes of the game when Green Bay scored 10 points to steal the game away.
