San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo had surgery on his torn ACL two weeks ago, and by all accounts, it was a successful procedure.
Prior to the procedure, head coach Kyle Shanahan said Garoppolo would be away from the team for a bit while he was taking care of the early stages of his rehab. His rehab is still in the early stages, but Garoppolo made a brief appearance in the locker room on Thursday.
Jimmy Garoppolo was at the #49ers facility today. He was on crutches, took two steps out of the trainers office into the locker room, saw it was during the lunchtime media availability and turned around.

My guess is he was at the facility for a check-in and he will be back to doing his rehab for the time being. Shanahan said after the procedure that the hope was he would be able to do some throwing at the offseason workout program. But two weeks removed from surgery, it’s still just getting through the fundamentals of rehab. And clearly he is not going to be talking about it for the time being.
Maiocco’s tweet prompted a perfect GIF response.
