Ok, there’s very little to take from the San Francisco 49ers’ loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Well, beyond the fact the all white unis were quite amazing and the fact George Kittle is now the best tight end, per Pro Football Focus.
Wait say what?
Yep. George Kittle is now the No. 1 tight end per PFF. He has an 86.5 overall grade which puts him ahead of Travis Kelce, Rob Gronkowski, and any other big name that makes a difference on the field.
Kittle is currently ranked second on yards per route run with 2.5 yards. This is .06 yards less than the leader, O.J. Howard. His 527 yards for the season is just 19 less than big-name Travis Kelce. Keep in mind in the Kittle/Kelce comparison, Kelce has five more receptions than Kittle, yet is only 19 yards ahead of him.
For the Rams game, Kittle was the only receiver who could do anything. He finished with 98 yards and a touchdown against the NFC West rivals. This marked the fifth time in seven games he has led the 49ers in receiving yards. He is currently on pace for 73 receptions and 1,204 receiving yards.
There’s a lot of things going wrong with the 2018 season, but the fact the 49ers have one of the best tight ends in the league by his second season (with a fifth round pick no less), means there’s at least some things going right.
Fooch’s note: Speaking of Kittle and his performance this past week, if he’s on your fantasy team, he’s looking out for you!
George Kittle cares about your fantasy team.

Kittle said he talked to Aaron Donald while his 10-yard TD was being reviewed last week.
Donald: "Man, you didn't get in?"
Kittle: "I had to get in because my fantasy coaches need me to get more points."
