The San Francisco 49ers veteran receiver Pierre Garçon is drawing trade interest from multiple teams, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“The 49ers have fielded calls from at least three teams in the past week inquiring whether Garcon is available, and San Francisco has listened to what others are offering as talks are expected to continue after Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, according to sources.”
The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, October 30 at 1 p.m. PST.
Garçon, 32, has caught 21 passes for 230 yards this season. He was on pace for a 1,000-yard season in 2017 before injuring his neck In Week 8 and spent the rest of the season on injured reserve. Garçon’s been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals with knee and shoulder injuries. Neither are thought to be serious.
Garçon’s strongest traits are his savvy route-running and reliable hands. He’d make an immediate impact on any team in need should the 49ers elect to trade their most experienced wideout.
49ers general manager John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan signed Garçon to a five-year, $47.3 million contract on the opening of free agency in 2017. He’s due $9.2 million this year and $8.4 in 2019, per overthecap.com.
