The San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals released their Week 8 inactives, and as expected, cornerback Richard Sherman and running back Matt Breida are both active. Center Weston Richburg is inactive due to a knee injury.
Breida was questionable after missing practice Wednesday and Thursday. Sunday morning reports suggest he will play in a limited role. This could mean more work for Raheem Mostert.
Sherman got in limited work on Wednesday and Friday, and sat out Thursday’s practice. He will start at one cornerback position, with Jimmie Ward and Ahkello Witherspoon getting work at the other cornerback spot.
Erik Magnuson will start at center in place of Richburg. Right guard Mike Person can also play guard, and so the team has activated Joshua Garnett as an extra guard option.
