Patriots-Bills closes out the week with Monday Night Football

The NFL closes out Week 8 with a matchup between the top and the bottom of the AFC East. The 2-5 Buffalo Bills host the 5-2 New England Patriots, with kickoff set for 5:15 p.m. PT on ESPN. Joe Tessitore and Jason Witten will call the game from the booth, with Booger McFarland serving as an analyst from the field. Lisa Salters continues her duties as the sideline reporter.

The Patriots are on track to once again claim the AFC East title. Miami lost in Week 8 and now sit a game and a half back. There’s a lot of football left, but it’s hard to see the Dolphins or Jets doing enough to climb back into this. Meanwhile, the Bills are 2-5 and have no answers at quarterback following Josh Allen’s injury. They have a shot at a top five draft pick, and will likely stick with that group after Monday’s game.

New England is a 14-point point favorite, according to sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark. The Bills are a dumpster fire and should lose this game, but that’s a lot of points for a divisional matchup. I would not be surprised if the Patriots rolled Buffalo, but as a betting man, I’m taking the two touchdowns in hopes the Bills can at least get a late backdoor cover. I suppose I’m a glutton for punishment.
