Colts-Patriots game thread to kick off Week 5

We’re back for Week 5 football. The New England Patriots host the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday Night Football as we move into the second quarter of the 2018 regular season. The game kicks off at 5:20 p.m. PT on NFL Network, with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman in the booth, and Erin Andrews and Kristina Pink on the sideline. You can also stream the game on Amazon Prime and listen to Hannah Storm and Andrea Kremer as an alternate audio option.

The Patriots are a double digit favorite, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. The line is around 10.5 points, although you can find 11 points in some spots. The Colts have a ridiculously long injury report this week. They will be without wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, running back Marlon Mack, tight end Jack Doyle, and cornerback Kenny Moore.

And yet, I think they can hang around in this one. The Patriots have done well as double digit favorites, winning three straight and 12 of their last 15 against the spread when the number is 10 or higher. I still think Andrew Luck is able to get the pass game going enough in what is always a weird Thursday slot to get the cover.
