Good morning folks, and happy Monday to you. The 49ers host Monday Night Football tonight against the lowly New York Giants in a game that carries significant implications for the 2019 draft. As of publication of this article, there has been no news of moving the game due to smoke concerns, and I doubt any changes are made due to the proximity to game time.
These two teams have combined for 3 wins entering into the week 10 matchup, and one of the squads will be starting it's third string QB. The 49ers, ravaged by injuries seasonlong, will also be without Jaquiski Tartt and Reuben Foster on defense, and short safety valve WR Pierre Garcon. In a game underscored by draft positioning as it's primary source of intrigue, it's not too wild to consider Nick Mullens' ability to handle an abbreviated WR corps as one of the more important storylines.
Following tonight's game, the 49ers will enjoy a bye week, during which time, we can only hope that our injured list finds itself shorter.
