Fooch’s update: This will serve as our PM game thread.
Welcome to Week 12. The NFL season is winding down the byes and making its final push to the playoffs. The San Francisco 49ers will get going in the A.M. against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with one of those cross-country early starts we all know and love.
The morning games don’t have anything much intriguing besides watching the Cleveland Browns against the Cincinnati Bengals. Wide Receiver A.J. Green is listed as doubtful for the Bengals, so this becomes a very interesting game where the Browns may find themselves winning enough to not net a top-five pick. The New England Patriots/New York Jets game could be interesting, but I’ve seen enough of these to know where this is going, even if both backup quarterbacks are playing. Same with the New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles. The Giants aren’t going to the playoffs, though them going on a massive winning streak to limp in and win a Super Bowl would be the most Giants thing ever.
What will be interesting is the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Denver Broncos in the afternoon. The Broncos gave the Chargers a run for their money and I’m curious how that defense can do against the Steelers offense. The Sunday night game should be great as well, but I think all these games will pale in comparison to the Rams/Chiefs games we were gifted last week.
