49ers inactives include Alfred Morris, Marquise Goodwin

This opens the door for a lot of reserve playing time.

The San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers released their inactives for Week 12, and there is one surprise on the 49ers side. Running back Alfred Morris appears to be a healthy scratch. Matt Breida is the team’s starter, but this means Matthew Dayes and/or Jeff Wilson could find themselves getting some work as well.

Linebacker Reuben Foster is listed as inactive, but that is because his official release does not happen until Monday (the NFL does not process transactions on Sunday).

Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin is inactive due to a personal matter. He was downgraded to doubtful on Saturday, so this is expected. Pierre Garçon is inactive as well, due to his knee injury, which means Kendrick Bourne and Dante Pettis will likely be starting on the outside.

D.J. Jones is inactive, and the team has activated rookie Jullian Taylor for the first time this season.

49ers inactives: WR Marquise Goodwin, WR Pierre Garçon, RB Alfred Morris, L Reuben Foster, OG Joshua Garnett, OT Shonn Coleman, DT D.J. Jones

Bucs inactives: LB Lavonte David, S Justin Evans, QB Ryan Griffin, S Godwin Igwebuike, RB Ronald Jones, DT Rakeem Nunez-Roches, CB M.J. Stewart
