Welcome to Week 10 of the 2018 NFL season! The San Francisco 49ers close out the week on Monday Night Football, facing the New York Giants as Nick Mullens makes his second career start. The week gets going later tonight with the Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the Carolina Panthers in a pretty huge inter-conference Thursday Night Football contest.
If you’re still alive in your Survivor pool, the 49ers are an interesting but scary option in Week 10. They host the Giants in a matchup of two teams competing for high draft positioning. Nick Mullens looked fantastic in his debut last week, but will he build on it or regress this week? It’s hard to see him matching that effort, but given how the bad the Giants are, a regression does not remove their chances at a victory.
This might just be the best time to use the Kansas City Chiefs. They host Arizona as 16.5 point favorites. A letdown could always happen in advance of their Week 11 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams, but this seems like a game the Chiefs roll in.
Tonight, Week 10 opens with the Steelers hosting the Panthers in an intriguing inter-conference matchup. The Steelers hold a half game lead on the Bengals in the AFC North, while the Panthers are a game back of the Saints in the NFC South. This is a huge game for both teams. The Steelers are a four-point favorite, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. Carolina is playing really well right now, with three straight wins under their belt. I think they’re in for a stumble this week, so I’m going to lay the points with Pittsburgh.
Here are all my straight-up picks for Week 10. I was 10-3 last week, bringing my season record to 88-43-2. I’ll have the rest of my picks against the spread later this weekend.
