The San Francisco 49ers offense did not exactly roll through the Seattle Seahawks this past week, but they put together a solid effort that did just enough to get the victory. Ricky Helton was on hand to photograph the game, and he’ll have a couple galleries this week. This first one focuses on the offense.
Nick Mullens threw for 275 yards and a touchdown, with wide receiver Dante Pettis ending the day as the team’s leading pass catcher — catching five passes for 83 yards. Tight end Garrett Celek emerged from a season-long receiving funk to catch two passes for 61 yards, including a 41-yard touchdown catch-and-run.
Running back Matt Breida led the team with 50 yards on 17 carries, and Jeff Wilson had seven carries for 46 yards. Wilson had a fumble, dropped pass, and taunting penalty that cost the team, but he closed the deal in overtime after Breida aggravated his ankle injury — setting up the game-winning field goal.
