Nick Mullens keeps on impressing with every start he makes. He led the 49ers to their 1st win against the Seattle Seahawks since 2013. They had lost 10 straight to their Northwest rivals and were just humiliated 2 weeks ago in Seattle. Nick threw for 275 yards on 20 completions and a touchdown. His performance in conjunction with the Richie James kickoff return, the defense’s performance, and a clutch Robbie Gould field goal in overtime ended the losing streak and gave the 49ers their signature win of 2018.

The Pro Bowl roster was announced and the 49ers are sending 2 players. TE George Kittle and FB Kyle Juszczyk will both be heading to the Pro Bowl. George continues to have a monster season for the 49ers. If it were not for a couple of off target throws from Nick, George could have had another game like the 210 yard game against Denver. He was open a few times that would have been touchdowns, but the passes were just a slightly off. This season, he is only behind Travis Kelce in receiving yards for a tight end. Juszczyk continues to be a huge part of the offense. He is lead blocker for a rushing attack that is ranked 10th in the NFL and he has 309 receiving yards, which ranks him 5th on the team. Both are key parts of Kyle Shanahan’s offense and they are well deserved picks.

DeForest Buckner should have also been selected rather than an alternate. He has 11 sacks on the season, which is a career high. He continues to dominate and show that he is one of the very best defensive tackles in the game. He is a cornerstone for the 49ers and they will try to build their defense around him. A player of his caliber can wreck a game almost on his own, so having good players around him will elevate this defense immensely. He will definitely be in the mix for multiple Pro Bowl selections in the future.
