Welcome to Week 13 of the NFL season! The San Francisco 49ers are back in divisional play, facing their rivals to the north in the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers will travel to CenturyLink Field, where they have not won since 2011. It’s not going to be an easy one for them.
The 2018 NFL season is officially in full swing, which means regular season betting is back. I’m back for another year of picks in the Westgate SuperContest. SB Nation’s partners over at Odds Shark are sponsoring my entry again. The contest requires selecting 5 games each week and picking them against the spread. I went 2-3 in Week 12, falling to 25-31-4 for the season. Overall for last week, I finished 7-8. The struggle continues.
I’m out of the running for much of anything with the SuperContest, so I am likely to include the 49ers game in my picks the rest of the way. I am most definitely including them this week, although not as some might expect. I will not be taking the points with the 49ers. They are getting as much as 10.5 points at some sportsbooks, but in the SuperContest, they are at 9.5 points. There is no way I would take this 49ers team on the road in Seattle for under double digits, and so, I am laying the points with Seattle.
The 49ers could surprise us, but I see them falling well short in the end. I think they keep it close in the first half, maybe even being down a possession, if that, at halftime. But I think Seattle will wear them down and end up winning by 14 or more points. I’d love to be wrong and see a close final score, but I’m jut not feeling it.
