Should Mullens start next year?

Although I do not believe Mullens will be given an opportunity to win the starting job week 1, due to financial reasons, I was wondering if I am the only person who thinks he should start next year? The 49ers played the Vikings week 1 when they were healthy and lost. The 49ers under Mullens played the Bears last week, which is a team better than the Vikings, and played more competitively than they did when they lost to Minnesota. Mullens to me has been extremely impressive as a rookie and has shown franchise QB traits who can thrive under a KS offense.

I believe that Mullens would make great strides in the coming years if he was "given the keys to the car" and cost a lot less than Jimmy G, while putting up comparable numbers. Jimmy G may have a better arm but I think Mullens may be like a Nick Foles where the team just plays harder with him behind center. Therefore I was wondering if I am the only person who thinks at the very least Mullens should be given an opportunity to compete next year for the starting job.
