Golden Nuggets: I am not looking forward to another long offseason

It has been a very disappointing season. First we had the early injuries to Jerrick McKinnon and Jimmy Garoppolo, then we had the sad realization that our defensive secondary was not going to live up to its hype. Add in the whole Reuben Foster quagmire and the season was pretty depressing.

I am not one of the people that had dreams of us going to the playoffs or anything like that but I did expect more. A whole lot more. I expected to see some kind of resemblance of a team coming together with a couple of pieces missing.

Jimmy Garoppolo was a little sluggish to start the season, but I was hoping to be able to watch his progression as the season went on. Now I fear he needs another season to fully grasp our offense which puts us a year behind on our timeline to competitiveness.

Now we get to argue about which players to keep, which free agents we will overpay for and who we will take in the draft. Every player will be over analyzed until we are practically bored to tears. I don’t expect a lot of open minded talk that covers a wide variety of ideas. People are way to quick to ridicule for that. After all, anyone offering a difference of opinion is a complete threat to the egos of those that are the most aggressive and therefore must be the most intelligent. Someone please wake me up in August.
