Welp, folks, it's almost over. The horrendous 2018 season which has seemed to drag on and on is finally at the finish line, and after today, we won't have to continue stressing over the ups and downs of strength of schedule, and we can finally shift focus to stressing over mock drafts. The 49ers look to play a full strength Los Angeles Rams team who is jockeying for playoff positioning, and then the book is closed on this nightmare season, and we can look forward, in earnest, to having Jimmy Garoppolo back, and the promise of some new faces in the building.
While much of this season has been an opportunity to see what some of the new guys can do, the team will be without Dante Pettis and Matt Breida, two of the most electrifying players on the roster, as they've been shifted to IR. The players to watch on offense should be WRs Kendrick Bourne and Richie James Jr., as the upside is there, but their roles going into 2019 are unclear at this point - a big showing from either could add something of a wrinkle to the upcoming months of roster projection. Defensively, perhaps the most intriguing player to watch is Marcell Harris, a talented rookie safety who is bound to be in the conversation as part of an underwhelming (read: underachieving) safety group that was expected to be a strength in 2018.
We're almost there, folks. One last game. Also, I know it feels gross, but we've gotta root for the Cardinals today.
