So the San Francisco 49ers are number 1 in draft positioning. Good. The 49ers need an edge rusher badly and if their record is going to get bit inflated with unnecessary wins when Jimmy Garoppolo returns, might as well make the most of a draft pick. Now I like Bosa, but if the quarterback crop is thin and some teams want one (like the New York Giants) it wouldn’t be a bad idea to entertain some first rounders in order for them to jump to the top.
I still want my demon pass rusher, but this is a great draft for the 49ers to have a premium pick. A lot can change in four games, but the 49ers need talent or depth. Remember that thing I said about the Kansas City Chiefs taking years to get that depth established? The 49ers could accelerate that with more picks.
But if it’s Bosa, I just don’t know if you pass that up. 49ers have been without a demon pass rusher too long.
