The San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos released their inactives for Week 14, and there are no real surprises for Kyle Shanahan’s squad. Matt Breida, Pierre Garçon, and Jaquiski Tartt are all inactive after being ruled out on Friday. Jeff Wilson will start in Breida’s place, Dante Pettis will likely start opposite Marquise Goodwin, and Marcell Harris should get another start at strong safety.
K’Waun Williams is inactive with a knee injury, which means rookie D.J. Reed is likely to get the start in the slot. That would mean Antone Exum starts at free safety. Pita Taumoepenu is active after being promoted from the practice squad earlier this week. Mark Nzeocha will likely start at strong side linebacker. Taumoepenu is most likely going to play primarily on special teams, but we’ll keep an eye out on defense.
Sheldon Day is inactive, which likely means more interior time for Solomon Thomas. Thomas got some extra interior work last week, but this could mean a sizable increase.
