A few days before the San Francisco 49ers became flooded with news — good and very, very bad — the folks at Bleacher Report posted an article looking at one free agent signing for each team. The part that interests me is they, for the most part, don’t repeat names.
Wide receiver Allen Robinson of the Jacksonville Jaguars is the player they suggest the 49ers should sign, which is no surprise. Robinson has been on many lists for the 49ers, by fans and experts alike.
The folks at Bleacher Report say the 49ers “didn’t have a go-to wide receiver,” this past season, and say that a “Garoppolo-to-Robinson connection would be one of the best pairings 49ers fans have seen in a decade.”
Again, I personally think the 49ers don’t need to target receiver in a huge way, but they’d know more about Pierre Garcon’s injuries than I would.
They also list 49ers running back Carlos Hyde as a player the Detroit Lions should target. The Lions have huge problems in the run game and Hyde would be a great pickup for them
I do think it’s interesting that safety Eric Reid and defensive end Tank Carradine are not listed for any teams, as I think they could both command decent contracts on the open market, especially Reid.
