Who will be the Arizona Cardinals quarterback in 2018?

The Arizona Cardinals face several big questions this offseason, and none is bigger than who will play quarterback for them in 2018. Carson Palmer announced his retirement, and with Blaine Gabbert and Drew Stanton hitting free agency (and neither a long-term answer anyway), the Cardinals have to figure out their QB room this offseason.

Kirk Cousins is the name that will be mentioned over and over again for a variety of teams. The Cardinals, Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, and Cleveland Browns are the most likely to be in the mix, but that won’t preclude other teams that already have a quarterback from kicking the tires on Cousins.

But given that the San Francisco 49ers face the Cardinals twice per year, I thought I would see what kind of prediction y’all had for the Cardinals starting QB position when Week 1 of the 2018 season rolls around.

Cousins is the highest profile option, but there are quite a few other potential names. I’ve included a poll below with a few of the names, along with a general “Rookie” option if you think they will be starting a 2018 draft pick. Nick Foles is under contract in Philadelphia, and with Carson Wentz rehabbing his torn ACL, I would be surprised if he is dealt — but you never know.

One name not included for now is A.J. McCarron. The Cincinnati Bengals backup quarterback is going through the grievance process to try and get declared an unrestricted free agent. He opened training camp on the NFI list as a rookie due to a shoulder injury, and was not activated until early December, by which time it was too late to accrue a season toward free agency. He is claiming he was healthy enough and should get the accrued season. A decision is expected on Thursday.
