Thank goodness this week seems a lot more calm and soothing than last week. We had the manic-depressing week of seeing Jimmy Garoppolo get signed (yay!) and then Reuben Foster getting arrested (No!).

Instead we get to celebrate a signing of Daniel Kilgore. Honestly, if the contract isn’t too weighty, I’m all for having Kilgore back. While he wasn’t an elite-talent center, he certainly was pulling more weight than Zane Beadles was. In fact, I’d imagine he was trying to pull weight for Beadles as well. The 49ers need to go O-line heavy this draft, but with the imminent release/suspension of Reuben Foster, the O-line, O-line, O-line repetitive harping I’ve done needs to be revised, because there’s a huge opening without Foster. Center won’t be a need, and I would have loved some looks at center before the episode last week.

Given what happened last week, keeping Kilgore around was a great move. Even if he winds up as a backup, he’s a solid piece of the 49ers line.
