How much have your expectations changed?

Last year, we asked how patient you would be with the new regime. About that...

Last year, I wrote a post shortly after free agency with a poll asking how patient you were with John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan.

The majority winner was three years. The staff had three years to get everything together with the San Francisco 49ers roster and make a possible playoff run. I even went on to say 8-8 in year two was a success.

Yeah, not so much anymore. With the addition of Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers free agents reportedly wanting to come to San Francisco, everything changes—for the better. In my 2018 predictions, I said the 49ers would make it into the playoffs as a wildcard and feel anything less than a playoff experience is a disappointment.

Then again, I’m wondering if I’m drinking too much of the kool-aid with this team. So now that the 49ers have Garoppolo locked up to a long term deal and wait on what to do with Reuben Foster, let’s see just where everyone’s expectations are. Obviously free agency hasn’t happened yet, and we’ll put up a new poll to see where everyone’s opinions have gone, but right now let’s see if anyone’s leniency has withered with the latest roster.

Has your patience with the regime changed now with the recent developments? Or do you still think three years is the sweet spot?

Now that the 49ers aren’t crap anymore, how patient are you?
